Filters are the core part of the event log monitoring engine of EventSentry and let you accomodate virtually every possible event log monitoring scenario. Whether you want to simply be emailed events and exclude others, be notified if a certain number of events occur during a set time period, if you need to know when an expected event did not occur or if you need to consolidate all events into a database - filters will accommodate almost every possible situation.
Thresholds can be assigned to filters so that they are triggered when a certain number of events occur within a time period. The recurring events feature can notify you when a certain event (e.g. backup event) does not occur during a predefined time period.
Groups can be created to organize filters into groups. This is helpful when you have a large number of servers/workstations that can be categorized into groups. Groups can be further used to apply updates only to a particular group when using remote update.
