The EventSentry service can notify the GUIwhenever an event occurs. The GUI can be configured to

| • | display a balloon |
| • | play a wav file |
These settings are configured in the General section. Please note that the GUI must be running for the Desktop target to work.
Since the desktop target uses windows mailslots to send messages accross the network which do not support encryption or authentication, it is recommended that you do not send security-sensitive information through this notification. You are also encouraged to verify security-sensitive messages received through the Desktop target from remote hosts, as they can be forged quite easily. |
Hostname
Specify the hostname where the messages are being sent to. Use a single dot . for the hostname to send messages to the local machine.
Test
You can click the test button to send a test message to the GUI itself. You should then see either a popup window, a balloon and/or hear a sound.
