General Options

The General Options dialog allow you to set general configuration settings and performance service maintenance.

Update URL

The service will use this web page to receive the current IP address of the default gateway. Any web page can be used provided the IP address is returned without any extra characters, e.g. 43.234.23.111. Click on the Default button to reset the update URL to the default. Please see the orange box below for more information on custom files.

Event log Logging

Specifies how much information is being written to the system event log. "Heavy" is only recommended if you experience problems using the Gateway IP Monitor.

Ignore IP address changes during service restarts

By default IP address changes that occur while the service is inactive (such as through a reboot) are also reported. If you only want to receive notifications while the service is active then activate this checkbox.

This shows the current IP address of the default gateway as it was last reported by the service.

These buttons allow you to install, uninstall, start and stop the Gateway IP Monitor service.

If you would like to receive the current IP address from a web site other than "www.netikus.net/show_ip.html" but are unsure about how to do that then you can install one of the three supplied example files located in the Program Files directory. showip.asp will work on Microsoft IIS servers that support ASP scripting, showip.pl will work on any web server that supports Perl, and showip.php will work on any web server that has PHP installed and configured.
