Starting with version 2.50 EventSentry includes a 2nd service, the EventSentry Heartbeat Monitor. The heartbeat monitor is a network monitoring service that will monitor network devices and notify you of problems. The heartbeat monitor can be integrated into the database and also offers a history of network events.

The heartbeat monitor offers the following features:

•	Check remote if remote EventSentry event log agents are running

•	Check remote hosts using customizable ping (=icmp echo) packets

•	Check remote TCP services

The heartbeat monitor integrates with the existing EventSentry management application, making it easy to monitor computers that are already configured in the management console.
