Important note for Windows NT 4

Please read this chapter if you plan on using the GUI on Windows NT 4. If you plan on installing the  EventSentryservice on Windows NT 4 computers but will administer from a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer then you can skip this chapter.

While EventSentry does fully support Windows NT 4 you might have to update the MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) DLLs (Dynamic Link Libraries) on the computer running Windows NT 4.

If you receive the error message The ordinal XXXX could not be located in the Dynamic Link Library MFC42.dll when launching the GUI then you will have to update the MFC DLLs and reboot the computer.

To install this update navigate to the EventSentry folder in the start menu and click MFC DLL Update. After the DLLs are updated you will have to reboot the computer.

Installing the MFC Update is not necessary if you run only the service on Windows NT 4 as the service does not depend on the MFC DLLs.
