Remote Update Timeout Every Remote Update action requires a connection with the remote computer. This timeout value specifies how many seconds EventSentry will try to connect until it aborts a connection attempt. Increase this value for slow networks; default is five seconds. More information can be found in the Remote Update Options.
Use Checkboxes This option allows you to switch the checkbox feature for remote updates on or off. More information can be found in the Remote Update Options.
Also update configuration when updating remote agents Selecting this option will also push the current configuration out to the remote host(s) when performing an update of the remote agent (Manage Agent(s) -> Update).
Use checkpoints to avoid unnecessary configuration updates When updating many hosts at the same time, especially when some of those hosts are located on slower networks, it sometimes happens that a particular remote update actions fails on a small number of hosts.
When using checkpoints, EventSentry writes a small checkpoint value to all computers and will not update a computer if the remote checkpoint value is equal to or higher than the local checkpoint value. The local checkpoint value is increased every time you save the configuration.
Prompt for IP address when adding individual computers You can create easy to remember aliases for IP address in the management application when adding computers. By default you are only able to add host names to the computers container in a group, but when activating this feature you can optionally also enter an IP address.
Configuration Options The features you set here will be used as the default for whenever you push out the local configuration using remote update. If you clear a feature here, then that configuration will be left intact on the remote host.
